Visit Umeå Tourist Center aims to comply at all times with the applicable laws and rules on the processing of personal data. Personal data are all types of information that can be used to identify an individual person.

We aim to comply at all times with all the applicable laws and rules on the processing of personal data. We process personal data for special purposes and we do not process more personal data than is necessary.

What personal data do we collect and why? – marketing on our website

When you choose to use our services in the form of visibility on our website, we store the following data:

  • Name of your company/association.
  • Contact details (e.g. address, email and telephone number).
  • Contact person.
  • Images that we have received from you as a manager/officer of an organisation that has a consent/model agreement with any persons shown in the images and also has permission to send said images to a third party (in this case, Visit Umeå).

Personal data that you send when you contact us via our chat function are saved so that we can handle your enquiries and compile statistics. These personal data are stored with ImBox (a company) and are deleted after 24 months.


Emails to [email protected]

Emails you send to us and brochures that you order from our website are handled via our email system. Your data and enquiries are saved for three (3) months.


If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, your personal data in this respect are deleted immediately. Each mailout gives you the opportunity to refuse future newsletters. Newsletter information is stored with Apsis (a company).

Your data are stored only for as long as is necessary for us to be able to: administer and honour any collaboration agreements or potential collaborations; or, comply with legal requirements on data storage.
